Okay, so it is Monday --- What's new?

We drove 50 miles to my SIL's yesterday to visit since she has been laid up after falling on ice and breaking her ankle and wrist.  Her daughter was just getting ready to get her out of the house for a trip to the mall.  So we only stayed 30 minutes and drove back home.

We will leave around 2:30 today for Des Moines.  DH has sleep apnea test tonight.  I will stay at our daughter's and hug on the 2 youngest grandchildren.  That is always a treat. When i had my surgery, my daughter bought me a gift card at Lane Bryant.  She thought I would want to buy something new for my mom's 80th birthday party that will be the 20th.  I'm not sure I'll use it yet.  I have a jacket in the closet that I haven't been able to wear for a while.  I'm hoping it will fit.  I'll save the LB gift card for closer to summer when I need something.  Since I have several sizes in my closet, I should be good to go for a while.  I can't wait until I can shop in regular stores and tell LB  bye bye.

Everyone have a great day!

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

morning george and OFF...

george i hope that your friend will get better....from what i understand what happened with my ex husband when he was sick he recieved the last rites and then started talking to everyone like he was all better....he had been in a coma type state i guess and this shocked them all when he started talking like nothing was ever wrong...he then died later that next day....anyhow i wish him the best on his getting better.

well i finally bought my GPS saturday and tried it out this morning for the first time. when i got to the point of turning LEFT it told me to turn RIGHT!!!! huh????????? now to figure out how to correct that one!!! also how do i turn this thing off so it doesn't use up all the charge? i can't find it in the directions for the off button or how to shut it off. sighs...

been a nice weekend and it looks like it will be a nice week also....high 40's to high 50's!!!! wooohoooooo!!!!!!!! looks like spring is in the air finally!!! but not looking forward to another snow fall and it could happen here because it is still winter and anything can happen....just hope the snow stays away!!! road here in the complex is really full of hugew potholes and getting worse as the snow melts.

working today and then finally off tuesday and wednesday and all i plan on doing is RELAX!!!!!!!!!!!! i am so worn out from all this working i have done last couple weeks. last paycheck was nice and the next one will be almost as good...almost. ;-)

well guess i will go work on the afghan so i can get it done and out of here. three more rows and i am done with it. just do not like the colors ricks mom picked out and i think that is why it has taken me so long to get it finished. not to mention that my hands hurt and guessing its arthritis. that also runs in my moms family.

ok i am out of here...have a great day and remember to SMILE!!!! :-)

About your GPS...  If it's a Garmin, to shut it off, you hold the "ON" button down for a few seconds and it turns off.  My kids had to tell me this.  It's nowhere in the instructions.

Also, once you unplug it from the power source, mine asks if I want to turn it off, and when I touch the "yes" button it shuts off.  The charge lasts quite a while, in either case.

I really enjoy mine.  I only get lost now when I ignore the little voice.....

Don't feel bad.  As I said, I had to call my son in Tennessee to find out how to turn the darn thing off.

Yep, I felt a little foolish, too, but my kids are used to my technologically-challenged mind....

Hi George and my OFF family:

Glad your friend is feeling better. Some things are beyond our comprehension.

I'm supposed to go out for lunch with a friend today but she hasn't called me yet. Another friend, Kim, called and said she wanted to join us and I said I didn't know where or when.

Not much else going on with me today. I'm just hanging around, playing on the computer, doing some stuff around the house. I too watched the Oscars. No big surprises in anything there. I kinda wanted Gabourney Sidibe to win, that would have been a surprise, but figured Sandra Bullock was the favorite. So that was OK.

Well, that's all for me. It's supposed to get up to 50 today. Spring maybe coming after all. But in Michigan I'm sure we'll get another blast of winter.

Good Morning, All

A lazy day is planned for today.  So what else is new?

After I finish on the computer, I'll pay a few bills, do a few dishes, and finish the last of the sorting that I've been doing for the last week.  There's not much left to put away, but I always seem to stall at this point.

Then I think I may start browsing through the closet and deciding what I haven't worn in the last couple of years and what I want to get rid of.  I'm definitely paring down around here.  I was on a clothes-buying binge when I first lost my weight, and I have stuff I've never worn.  Mostly from resale shops and thrift stores, but still in good shape and pretty current.  Closets are too crowded, and I always seem to wear the same few favorites anyhow.

I work this afternoon.  With Spring coming, I'm starting to regret my decision to wait an extra year to retire.  Sigh....It's all about the $$$$$.

Everyone have a good day.

Candy

I just took the plunge and made an appointment for next week with the retirement system planners.  I'll get an accurate idea of $$$ instead of the guesstimates that I've been doing for myself.  Shaking in my shoes right now, but it's time to get my head out of where it's been and start looking for the light....
